It can be found obviously that the upheaval deformation increases accordingly with the incremental of the excavation depth atop. Very small deformations (less than 2 mm) can be observed in case of a relatively shallow depth (excavation is no more than 3 m). When the pit goes deeper, larger upheaval deformation can be more easily induced. More than 6 mm of maximum deformation can be observed as the foundation pit reaches a depth of 6.5 m. Moreover, the results also indicate how the upheaval deformation developed in the condition of different depth excavation. Nonlinear behaviors can be figured out with the process of excavation, and deformation values seem to increase easily while the excavation level almost reaches the pit bottom.
